Greg Zuercher - Managing Partner

Greg Zuercher is co-founder of Denergy Partners and runs supply procurement and producer services out of the Denver office. Greg graduated from Michigan State University in 1996 with a B.A. in Finance and started his career with R.J. O’Brien in the pits of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange before managing their institutional sales and execution trading desk. Greg was Vice President of Marketing and Research at DEVO Capital Management from 2003-2017 and Branch Office Manager (Series 30) of the Denver office. Greg developed customized hedge strategies using structured products to help energy market participants protect against adverse price movements. Greg was Director of Sales & Marketing at Devlar Energy Marketing from 2005-2017 and managed all sales and marketing efforts along with business development. Greg created and oversaw the inventory management program along with trading and balancing strategies for physical natural gas and crude oil operations.

Ruel Cooper - Managing Partner

Ruel Cooper is co-founder of Denergy Partners. Ruel oversees all facets of physical crude oil and natural gas marketing and runs Denergy’s Houston office. With more than 20 years of trading, business development, and scheduling experience in the oil & gas business, Ruel brings considerable expertise to the Denergy team. Ruel got his start in the energy business scheduling natural gas in the operations department at Aquila in Kansas City. He then moved into trading natural gas in the West and Mid-Continent regions for both Aquila and later Select Natural Gas in Denver. Ruel was the Vice President of Oil & Gas Marketing at Devlar Energy Marketing from 2005 until 2017. Ruel helped start Devlar in 2005 and managed the physical natural gas and crude oil marketing for the company. Ruel was an Associated Person (Series 3) of Devo Capital Management from 2008 until 2017.
